Trusts & Estates

WILLS AND TRUSTS

Over the course of his career, John has helped hundreds of families in drafting their wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents. John assists individuals and families in choosing among various estate planning strategies, including:

  • drafting wills and trusts
  • helping clients form family LLC’s or family limited partnerships
  • coordinating life-insurance and gifting arrangements best suited to achieve a client’s individual objectives.

By doing this, he works closely with clients to develop and implement practical methods of saving income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes that are consistent with his clients’ overall business strategies and estate planning objectives.

PROBATE & PROBATE LITIGATION

John advises, guides, and represents clients in all stages of the probate and estate administration process. Many of our estate planning clients also turn to us to assist them when a family member passes away.

John handles everything, from:

  • probating a Will in court
  • assisting a Personal Representative or other parties in this process
  • working with investment advisors to fund a trust.

In addition, John is experienced in helping clients to resolve disputes that arise in the probate context and in probate litigation. He not only has the experience to help families avoid a probate ahead of time, but he also can help them work through the many nuances of a probate case if they are forced to file a probate case.

TRUST ADMINISTRATION

John advises and represents clients in connection with establishing and administering trusts, counseling trustee clients about their duties in the administration of trust assets, and representing clients in disputes arising out of the administration of such trusts. He has represented fiduciaries and beneficiaries alike in all aspects of trust administration, including filing court actions where required by the circumstances.

GUARDIANSHIP/CONSERVATORSHIP

John has assisted many Arizona families in navigating through the court process when a loved one becomes incapacitated and is in need of a guardian or conservator through the court to manage his or her care and finances. However, he can not only provide guidance in these court proceedings, but he also provides planning in advance of an incapacity to avoid the need for court intervention in the event of a disability. With a larger and larger number of our State’s population facing Alzhemer’s/dementia issues today, you count count on him to be your advocate in any planning or court proceedings.
